We welcomed in the year of the tiger with quite a few (freezing) people in Kungstragården.

We got to see many types of Chinese dancing - a tiger dance, native dances from 12 different regions as well as the dragon dance. As the picture shows, Lann and Mattias were less than thrilled with the weather… brrrrr. I don’t mind the cold, but the wind blows. (No pun intended… well, ok, you caught me).

This is a pretty crappy photo (I could blame it on my i phone… but alas I have none) because the snow is actually taller than Fredrik. Insane… I’ve never seen this much snow in Rönninge and the locals concur. Please, please, please don’t all melt at once!
Sledding with Farmor (pics below) - she’s such a good sport… I sat on her warm couch reading a book.

Mattias was in heaven (January 31st) at the train museum. They have a bunch of trains that you can hop off and on as well as a subway that you can drive AND a small green train that takes you around the museum (for an extra $1.50).

And you wouldn’t believe that the toy museum is connected to the train museum… *pure bliss*
“Mommy I need a quarter so I can ride the horse.” … yep, pretty much the only child in Stockholm to say this…. ahh, if only things were that cheap!

Ok, so it’s not the Vancouver aquarium… (no whales or dolphins) but it is pretty cool - especially if you are 2 years old. Mattias really enjoyed looking at the sharks and fish but he was a bit thrown off by the thunder and lightning storm in the “rain forest.” I have to admit it caught me off guard too. It was pretty cool once the downpour stopped.
After exploring the aquarium we had lunch in the cute cafe overlooking Stockholm.

Mommy, I want some milk.
Mattias, it is 9 at night. The kitchen is closed.
Mommy, you can’t close the kitchen, it doesn’t have any doors.

“… get outa here and close the door, Mommy!”Ahhh, yes our little teenaged 2 year old. That’s the thanks I get for taking toys out of the bath.

Saturday the 23rd of January (yesterday) we went sledding with Leif, Inger and Lann. Since we have had snow for quite a while (it came before Christmas) the popular hills are now nearly ice covered. This means that the hills are super fast!
Click here for a video of the action.

There was also a sleigh on a track that Mattias called the “snow train.” Here is a video of Lann pushing Mattias on the sleigh.

Nothing is more relaxing then a bath after a long trip. Here is Mattias with all of his new bath toys the day after we landed.

Mattias was really well behaved on the flight - all things considered. He only slept for 1 hour (out of 11) but when he was awake he watched “Fireman Sam” over and over. Here he is staring intently at his video screen.

Our last weekend in Washington we took a trip to Spokane to celebrate my cousin Tessa at her bridal shower. Mattias was thrilled that our hotel had a pool.
