Baby Shower

With a little less than a month to go we headed down to Redmond for a baby shower. We had no idea what to expect (despite the fact that we had quite some time at the border to think about it) but I can honestly say that the decorations and turn-out far exceeded my expectations. The Freemans were able to make it over from Spokane and my sister was able to join us via video Skype. The house was decorated with many of the things that I had when I was a baby (I have a Mom who not only saved all of my special things – but can still find them to this day). There was also a table filled with “baby” foods (such as miniature grapes, baby corn, baby carrots, baby bottles filled with candy … and much, much more). We (girls only!!) played some games (guess what is in this baby food jar, a memory test to see who could remember everything that was in a diaper bag.. and other fun games). Then it was time for the presents. Wow!! I can’t thank you all enough. Who knew that they now make spoons that change color if the food you’re trying to give the baby is too hot?? So many thoughtful gifts. Thank you!

After the baby shower the boys were able to join us for a super tasty bbq. My Dad had spent all day Friday preparing his famous baby back ribs… he he … get it? “baby” back ribs, and everyone else had chipped in with a side dish. As usual there were left-overs (despite the fact that I ate for at least 2). All in all it was an amazing (but tiring) day.
