3 Weeks Old

img_0650.jpg

Well, this was the first week that I was home alone with Mattias and while I didn’t manage to write a novel, cure cancer or tour Vancouver’s finest museums, I did brush my teeth, shower and get dressed – before lunch! every day! Quite the accomplishment if you ask me. Mattias continues to grow every minute. We’re not sure how big he is but we’ll find out at our doctor appointment tomorrow. It might seem crazy but I find myself looking through the baby pictures of Mattias (pictures from 3 weeks ago) – as if he were a grown boy already. So much has changed.

He looks so much bigger here….and very wise (and amazingly patient which we all know probably didn’t come from his mom’s side of the family!)

Did you get a birth certificate yet? Can he come visit????

About the birth certificate… turns out I filled it out wrong – in two places. I accidentally put his first name as Mattias (even though we decided to call him Sture Mattias) so I crossed it out and re-wrote it. Turns out, if you cross things out on a government document you’re supposed to initial it… who knew? And then it asked for my Maiden Name (mother’s name at time of birth) … so I figured, since I’m filling out HIS birth certificate, they must mean my last name at the time of HIS birth.. a little weird, but you’d be surprised how much they do a little different up here. WRONG AGAIN. So, I faxed in a new form yesterday. We’ll see how long it takes. Hope to see you soon, Sarah Weiler Lindahl

    Birth certificate continued…
They sent another letter today saying that I had screwed up the maiden name part, and this time it was addressed to Mattias – They have more confidence in a 3 week old than they have in me! If we have to wait for him to fill it out we might be stuck in Canada for a while.. hee hee

And Sarah I’m sure you gonna cure cancer one day …. i agree that just getting a shower and get some clothes on are a great achievement when you have baby in the house :-)//Sussie
