Ugh! Moving is never fun. At first it was like Christmas – opening boxes and discovering things that we had forgotten about but then we discovered the welcoming committee (aka small worms in every box). Fredrik spent most of Saturday on the phone trying to control our pest problem. They suggested that we put all of the boxes containing fabric back in the moving van and leave it out over night (when it is -10°C) so that they freeze. So our boxes went from storage to the apartment, back in the truck and then back in to the apartment…. more moving then we had expected. While Fredrik was on the phone I sat and stared at a pile of “bookshelves in the making” and a container of nails and other small parts. Just as I was thinking “we’ve lived without all of this stuff for 2 years – surely we can live without it for the rest of our lives”.. progress! After sorting all of the boards I finally was able to put together our shelves. I’m pretty sure that if people stop having kids in Stockholm and I’m out of a job I can work for Ikea.
After getting all of the shelves together on Saturday we took a break to get together with some family and I got the opportunity to try something new – skate on a frozen lake.
I know it’s a tiny picture but on the right you can see some people skating behind strollers. Crazy! I’ve got on long skates that fit on boots – they have bindings that are somewhat like skis.
Because I couldn’t update without Mattias.
Now we’ve got to make a trip to Ikea to replace our couch and bed… some things just don’t fit in the washing machine.
I can’t believe you moved before we got to see each other! We lived so close to each other, too.
