About 9 years ago a special someone came in to Fredrik’s life. This special someone has been responsible for his highest highs and lowest lows, and has even inspired him to travel the world (Malta, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Denmark).
Who, you might ask, is my competition?
Lars Lagerbäck. Up until tonight Lagerbäck was the captain coach (sorry guys! see disclaimer below) of the Swedish national team and Fredrik is at Lagerbäck’s final game to bid him farewell. You can’t blame a guy for sticking with what he knows, but if what you know is old or has bad knees, you suddenly don’t know how to win. And then, well, it’s pretty hard not to blame him. Ahhh, reality TV for men. He got voted off. Fredrik’s idol.
Lars, thanks for the memories.

Future player??
*I’m pretty sure Lagerbäck had nothing to do with this as it was the U-21 players, but it’s still a cute pic… right?
It’s not as bad as it looks, I’m pretty sure we won a few in there somewhere.
PS I know NOTHING about soccer so if I’ve offended you in any way … hold a grudge (it’s what I’d do).
So, just to explain the long year. If there isn’t divine intervention tonight Sweden is out of the World Cup which puts us just about a year from qualifications for the European Championship and 5!! years away from the next World Cup. I’ll have a 7 year old by then!
Maybe you could arrange it to also have a 2 year old? Just saying I know nothing about soccer and less about timing babies ;^) I could arrange a puppy for you though hahahahahaha
You are hysterical! The pictures of Mattias over the last two years are an adorable tribute to the team .
Glad to see you had a good time on your trip. I still can’t get over how big Mattias is!
